Media Registration

All members of the media must register with the Secretary of the Senate and display a valid Senate-issued Media Access Pass while covering Senate activities.

To cover session from the Senate floor as a member of the media, media representatives must complete and submit a Media Registration Form. This form can be submitted via email at sensecretary@senate.michigan.gov or in person at the Secretary of the Senate's Administrative Office, located in room S-5 of the Michigan State Capitol (100 North Capitol Avenue, Lansing, MI 48933). Alternatively, the form may also be delivered to Senate Police in the Townsend Lobby of the Binsfeld Office Building (201 Townsend Street, Lansing MI 48933).

More detailed information regarding media registration can be found in the Media Registration Guidelines document.

All media personnel must comply with Senate Rules and may find Senate Rules 3.901 and 3.903 most helpful, as these outline expectations for conduct and access. Additionally, all visitors of the Michigan Senate, including members of the media, should familiarize themselves with the Rules and Regulations Regarding Conduct in Senate Work Areas and comply with signs posted in Senate spaces as well as with the directions of Michigan Senate Police Department personnel or other authorized individuals.

If you have any questions regarding media registration, please do not hesitate to contact the Secretary of the Senate.
