Senator Compensation
The State Officers Compensation Commission (SOCC) makes determinations for salaries and annual expense allowances for elected state officials. SOCC determinations must be approved by a concurrent resolution adopted by the majority of each chamber to become effective.
Pursuant to SOCC determination, legislators are also eligible for reimbursement of miles driven in their district and for one round trip per week between the legislator’s home district and the Michigan State Capitol while conducting legislative business.
