Wakeshma Township seeks some future flexibility to ensure its residents have fire department coverage in the years ahead. The township plans to buy a pumper tanker, and a rescue truck to carry medical equipment and enough water to put out field fires. This equipment could help support Wakeshma in its current fire response agreement with a neighboring township, while potentially taking a step toward establishing its own fire department in the future. The goal is to be responsive to the community and improve public safety, fulfilling a core function of government.
