Funding for this proposal will allow the Village of Quincy’s Water and Sewer Department to purchase a new sewer camera. Sewer cameras are essential tools for water and sewer departments that are used to inspect pipe interiors for blockages, root intrusions, cracks, and collapsed sections. These cameras are waterproof and attached to a flexible cable with LED lights to navigate narrow pipes. Water and sewer departments rely on sewer cameras to provide real-time footage of pipe conditions without having to conduct a site dig of a pipe to monitor conditions. They allow water and sewer departments to monitor conditions and address maintenance concerns as they arise and can avoid costly improvement projects if regular maintenance is deferred.
