6. What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?
To advance data-driven decision-making and improve transparency within the homeless response system, the $700,000 on-going allocation will support MCAH in expanding statewide data initiatives, including: ● Data Democratization: Development of accessible dashboards, interactive data tools, and publicly available reporting to support policymakers, service providers and community partners. ● Advanced Data Analytics: Implementation of predictive analytics, real-time monitoring tools and enhanced performance dashboards that support strategic resource allocation and improved outcomes. ● Cross-System Data Integration: Initiatives to strengthen alignment between HMIS and other state systems; including behavioral health, foster care and housing programs; to support coordinated care and reduce duplication. ● Capacity Building: Training and technical support for CoCs and provider agencies to increase analytic capability and improve local use of data in planning and service delivery.
