What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?General Scope: In an effort to continue promotion and expansion of defense industry activity in Macomb County, Grantee will undertake the tasks listed within Grantee Duties. Grantee Duties: a. Selfridge Air National Guard Base (SANGB) support and business engagement, including the 2026 air show. b. Conduct industry engagement and outreach at events like Farnborough July 20-24, 2026, Eurosatory June 15-19, AEROone, AUVSI/MDEX, AUSA, MIBA Delegation events, etc. c. The United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting Outreach, October 13-15, 2025. d. Operate the Macomb County International Landing Zone (ILZ) Program, engaging with prospective international companies interested in locating in Michigan. Lease space for businesses, along with marketing and branding efforts, to increase awareness of the ILZ. Events that increase awareness of ILZ in Macomb, like lunch and learns for foreign delegations. e. A Macomb County Cyber Collaborative (MADCAT) consulting services and operations. f. Purchasing equipment, materials, and cover programming cost for the Macomb MARZ g. College Trip to Introduce Future Engineers to Aerospace and Defense Businesses in Macomb County Grantee Deliverables a. In conjunction with the grantee’s quarterly billing statement(s), the grantee shall provide a quarterly progress report to the MEDC Grant Manager in a format specified by the Grant Manager. Grantee shall provide specific status updates and activity details related to all duties listed (a-g). b. At the conclusion of the grant period of performance, Grantee shall provide a detailed, comprehensive report related to all grantee duties listed (a-g). For each duty listed, the grantee shall provide an overview of all work accomplished as well as specific outcomes based on grant activities. Grantee shall also provide any other information related to grantee duties if requested by the Grant Manager. Note: This was cut in the FY 25 work projects
