What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?The purpose of this funding is to assist with the operation and maintenance costs of the Holocaust Museum whose mission is to engage, educate, and empower Michigan residents and others about the Holocaust and its lessons for contemporary society, such as the need to stand up to hatred and intolerance. Funding for the operation and maintenance of the museum will ensure it can continue to provide programming that will help reduce attitudes of antisemitism and bigotry in the State of Michigan.
