What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?The purpose of this project grant funding is to provide for rural healthcare sustainability through the acquisition and upgrade of healthcare technology, updates to healthcare facilities physical infrastructure, improvement in patient and staff safety through medical grade equipment acquisition and AI fall prevention technology, expanding patient care areas for delivering medical services for patient infusion treatments, and outpatient primary and specialty care treatment location expansion and construction for enhanced coordinated patient care access. The recent GRANT NO. HILLSDALE25 from the Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity was for $3,500,000, of which Hillsdale Hospital has received, as of December 31, 2025, $1,577,124.81. The requested funding represents reimbursement for the remaining funding for projects which had been undertaken and paid for in anticipation of reimbursement under the previous grant.
