• What is the purpose and how does the legislatively directed spending item provide a public benefit that is an appropriate use of taxpayer money?
  Roof replacements are needed for the Carl Kleimola Technical Center and David G. Lindquist Student and Conference Center, built in 1973 and 1993, respectively. GCC cannot afford the needed replacements out of existing college operational funding. The roofs have reached their expected lifespan and are leaking. The college has previously explored capital outlay funding and has been informed that at least one of the facilities would not qualify. The roof replacements are a basic infrastructure need of a small institution that is the only institution of higher education within a two hour radius.
