- The proposed project would be a roundabout at the intersection of Clare Ave. and Surrey Road. The project would also include repaving Clare Ave. from the north city limits of Clare to the new roundabout. In paving Clare Ave., we would also widen the paved shoulders to 8' on each side of the road to accommodate Amish buggy traffic. This is a very congested intersection and a very important one to the economic development in our community. It is directly north of a 127 off ramp and next to a major commercial store (Jay's). According to date from pervious years the intersection sees over 6,000 cars in a day. A roundabout at this busy intersection would greatly reduce the risks of accidents and help to improve traffic flow.
