Replacing this ambulance will directly improve emergency medical response times, reliability, and public safety for residents and visitors to the City of Sault Ste. Marie. A modern ambulance will reduce maintenance and operating costs, ensure dependable service delivery, and support continuity of emergency medical services. This investment represents a responsible use of taxpayer funds by protecting public health and safety while stabilizing long-term municipal operating costs.
