- Loonfeather Point Park is an 11.2-acre community park located on the north shore of Ford Lake. The park has two pavilions, a playground, a walking trail, and a fishing dock. It is used heavily by nearby residents and community members alike. The existing dock was originally built around 1990 and has exceeded its functional lifespan, presenting significant hazards. This project represents a necessary and responsible investment in public safety, infrastructure reliability, and long-term cost efficiency. Replacing the deteriorated dock will eliminate ongoing repair expenses that exceed replacement costs, reduce liability risks, and ensure equitable public access to recreational water resources. Allocated funding will be used exclusively for the removal of the unsafe structure, the construction of a durable, environmentally compliant replacement dock, and associated safety improvements benefiting the entire community. Replacement of the existing dock is essential for public safety, environmental responsibility, and continued community access to the waterfront. Funding support will directly protect residents, restore recreational opportunities, and preserve an important public resource for years to come.
