Full Time Positions

  • Senate Majority Leader - Deputy General Counsel
    Under the direction of the Senate Majority Leader and supervised by the General Counsel the Deputy General Counsel acts in the absence of the General Counsel in fulfilling the responsibilities of the Office of General Counsel. The Deputy General Counsel represents the Senate as an institution, while also assisting the General Counsel in providing legal services to the Senate Majority Leader, Senate Majority Caucus, and Majority staff members relating to public policy and legislative operations (e.g., statutory and constitutional interpretation). The Deputy General Counsel conducts the appointments and advice and consent process for the Senate Majority Leader and serves as a policy advisor as needed.
  • Senate Business Office - Administrative Assistant
    Under the direction of the Director of the Senate Business Office and supervised by the Employee Engagement & Project Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant is the first point of contact for the Senate Business Office. The Administrative Assistant assists management and all visitors to the Senate Business Office by handling office tasks and providing polite and professional assistance via telephone, mail, e-mail, and in-person. The Administrative Assistant provides support for various accounting and human resource functions and assists managers with special projects and other administrative work as assigned.

Part Time Positions

  • PART-TIME ASSISTANT SERGEANT AT ARMS
    Under the direction of the Director of the Senate Business Office and supervised by the Sergeant at Arms/ Chief of Police (Chief of Police) and the Lieutenant of Public Safety, the Assistant Sergeant at Arms is an MCOLES certified Police Officer for the Michigan Senate Police Department (MSPD).

  • Senator Bumstead - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management.
  • Senator Chang - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management.
  • Senator Daley - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management.
  • Senator Geiss - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management.
  • Senator Hertel - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management.
  • Senator Hollier - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management. Some responsibilities will include: monitoring legislation, preparing written correspondence, and conducting legislative research.
  • Senator LaSata - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management.   • Senator Nesbitt - Intern
    The individual will provide assistance to the Senator and staff ranging in the areas of legislation, communications, constituent affairs, and general office management. Some responsibilities will include: monitoring legislation, preparing written correspondence, and conducting legislative research.
