LANSING- State Senator Mike Prusi (D-Ishpeming) Statement on Republican's Failure to Repeal the Service Tax Tonight. Prusi is the Democratic Vice-Chair of the Senate Finance Committee and member of the service tax work group:

Republicans had every opportunity today to get rid of this service tax, but they chose stall tactics over serious compromise. When they had a chance tonight to vote to repeal the tax, a majority of Democrats voted yes and not a single Republican joined us. If they're willing to hold the business community and public hostage with this tax for political purposes, that's their decision - but it's a terrible one for the state.
