LANSING - Senate Democratic leader Mike Prusi (D-Ishpeming) on the Senate floor today questioned why the Majority Republicans would not release six completed budgets to the Governor. Despite bragging about completing their versions of the budgets months ago, they have held these six budgets for nearly a week without releasing them to be considered by Governor Granholm:

• Michigan State Police

• General Government

• Higher Education

• Department of Energy, Labor, and Economic Growth

• Department of Human Services

• Department of Community Health

Democrats cautioned against any Republican gamesmanship that may be an attempt to hold the budgets until the deadline yet again, then blame the Governor and Democrats if another shutdown occurs.
