Alan Sanborn, R-Richmond, is administered the oath of office by his father, the Honorable Kenneth Sanborn (right), November 14th to become the newest Michigan state Senator. The ceremony took place in the jury room of the Mt. Clemens Circuit Courthouse, where the elder Sanborn presided for numerous years. Joining the Sanborns is retired Otsego County Probate Justice Richard Liedel (left), uncle of Alan Sanborn.

Senator Alan Sanborn, R-Richmond, is joined by (left to right) Doug Howard, director, Michigan Family Independence Agency and Steve Shepard and Caroline Ross, Health and Safety Specialists for UAW Local 6000. Sanborn and his guests commemorated the one year enactment of Lisa's Law, legislation allowing law enforcement to accompany Family Independence Agency employees on potentially volatile field investigations.

Sen. Alan Sanborn, R-Richmond, welcomed Mrs. Michigan 2002 Christine Stellino during a Senate session Nov. 13 in the Senate chambers. Ms. Stellino has dedicated a great deal of her time to Care House, a non-profit group whose mission is to prevent and reduce the incidence of sexual and physical abuse of children in Macomb County. With Sen. Sanborn and Mrs. Michigan are Mrs. Louise Riggs (Left), mother of Ms. Stellino and daughter Jasmine Stellino.
