June 13, 2007 – Senate Majority
Leader Mike Bishop, R-Rochester, and Governor Jennifer Granholm
announced a historic agreement on a business tax plan that will
stimulate economic growth in Michigan. SBT workgroup members: Sen.
Mark Jansen, R-Grand Rapids, Sen. Nancy Cassis, R-Novi, and Sen. Jud
Gilbert, R-Algonac attended the announcement.

June 12, 2007—After Senate
session, Senate Majority Leader Michael D. Bishop, R-Rochester (left),
stands in the Senate chambers with Anne Parsons, president of the
Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO), and Maestro Thomas Wilkins, resident
conductor of the orchestra. In the afternoon, the DSO gave a public
concert on the Capitol lawn.

June 13, 2007—Sen. Nancy Cassis speaks
to the media in the Capitol rotunda on the agreement to replace
Michigan’s outgoing Single Business Tax. Cassis was the primary sponsor
of the agreement and a co-chair of the workgroup that ironed out the
differences
between the Senate

May 31, 2007 –
Gregory Olds Stephens, great-great-grandson of R.E. Olds, drove
“President Roosevelt” to the state Capitol Thursday in a 1905 REO
Oldsmobile. Waving from the back, Keith McGough enthusiastically
portrayed President Roosevelt throughout the day’s re-enactments.
