Crime Victim Foundation to hold its annual awareness vigil at Michigan Capitol

Who:    State Sen. Alan Cropsey, R-DeWitt; a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers; Jody Robinson, co-founder of the National Organization of Victims of Juvenile Lifers; and county prosecutors and victim services directors from throughout the state. 

What:    Legislators, law enforcement officials, advocates and victims’ families gather to raise awareness about crime victims’ issues and remember loved ones lost to violence.

When:    6 p.m. Wednesday, April 29.

Where:    Rotunda of the Michigan Capitol. 

Briefing:    As part of the annual observance of Crime Victims’ Rights Week, interested individuals and groups gather annually at the Michigan Capitol to pause and reflect.  Participants mark the lives that have been lost and focus on efforts to enact meaningful policies for assisting survivors.
