Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, welcomed Rabbi Levi Shemtov of Friendship Circle in West Bloomfield to the state Capitol Wednesday. Shemtov led members of the Michigan Senate during the invocation and afterward joined Kowall on the Senate floor for session. According to its website, Friendship Circle provides assistance and support to the families of children with special needs.  (7/13/2011)

 

State Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, joined Gov. Rick Snyder at the Capitol Tuesday as Public Act 77 of 2011 (Senate Bill 383) was signed into law. The new law gives more flexibility to the administration by allowing the state treasurer and the Michigan Film Office to negotiate with those who apply for Michigan Business Tax film tax credits on the amount of the credit they will receive for the remaining months of the program. (7/12/2011)

 

Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, welcomed Annette Kelly, Mrs. Michigan United States 2011, to the state Capitol on June 23, 2011. She spoke before the Michigan Senate about the importance of autism research. Kelly will compete for the title of Mrs. United States in Las Vegas, July 31 through Aug. 4. (6/23/2011)

 

In remembrance of Marine Lance Cpl. Dominic Ciaramitaro of South Lyon, Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, places a folded American flag in a basket on the Senate floor during the chambers 17th Annual Memorial Day Service. LANSING - State Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, joined Gov. Rick Snyder at the Capitol as he signed a new law ending individual price stickers on retail items. Public Act 15 of 2011 (House Bill 4158) eliminates current requirements for stores to individually mark items with price tags.  (3/30/2011)

State Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, is administered the oath of office by Michigan Supreme Court Chief Justice Robert P. Young, Jr. Standing with Kowall is his wife Rep. Eileen Kowall, R-White Lake. Other family members attending the ceremony include daughter Stephanie Kowall, daughter Marissa Downs, son-in-law Tom Downs and granddaughter Madeline Downs.
