State Sen. Tom George, R-Texas Township (right), explains his plan to allow for the creation of a Detroit/Wayne County Redevelopment Authority. George spoke at Motor City Blight Busters, a community-based nonprofit organization in northwest Detroit that helps stabilize, revitalize and rejuvenate neighborhoods in the city. The lawmaker said a redevelopment authority would enable the city and county to develop a cohesive strategy for stabilizing and redeveloping tax-reverted properties.
