Michigan's fallen military heroes who defended freedom and sacrificed their lives in the War on Terror were honored Thursday during the Michigan Senate's 15th Annual Memorial Day Service. Senator Valde Garcia, a colonel in the Michigan Army National Guard, presided over the ceremony that acknowledged the 15 soldiers and sailors from Michigan who were killed in action over the past 12 months.
