SEN. CLARK-COLEMAN PRAISES ACCELERATED ROAD PROJECTS

Expedited schedule to create jobs, improve infrastructure

LANSING -Sen. Irma Clark-Coleman (D-Dearborn) today praised Gov. Jennifer Granholm’s announcement of accelerating 10 years of projected road construction into three years. The work program will include northbound and southbound deck replacement under M-153 in Wayne County.

“I am delighted at the decision to expedite these projects,” Sen. Clark-Coleman said. “Not only are we undertaking much needed infrastructure improvements but we are creating jobs needed to get them done. It’s another step toward our state’s economic recovery.”

The road project acceleration, which was announced during the Governor’s State of the State address, is a part of the Jobs Today program intended to create jobs and strengthen the state’s infrastructure.
