FINAL PASSAGEHB 4456 (Gregory) House Bill 4456 would remove the ability of certain commercial rental property to adjust its taxable value upwards and downwards based on changes in occupancy. The bill is intended to address what is commonly referred to as the "WPW loophole."
HB 4985 (Lisa Brown) House Bill 4985 amends the Michigan Campaign Finance Act to require that “robo” communications must clearly state the name and address or phone number of the person paying for the communication. Additionally, a telephonic communication would be prohibited outside of the hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
HB 4501 (Geiss) House Bill 4501 amends the Michigan Firearms Act by changing the definition of the length of a pistol. This bill would bring Michigan law in line with federal gun law.
HB 4502 (Ebli) House Bill 4502 amends the Michigan Penal Code by changing the definition of the length of a pistol. This bill would bring Michigan law in line with federal gun law.
HB 5037 (Geiss) House Bill 5037 changes the definition of a signaling pistol to 26 inches in length or less from 30 inches.
HB 5038 (Ebli) House Bill 5038 amends the Firearms Act to permit a person who lawfully owned, possessed, carried or transported a firearm with a length of 30 inches or less as a pistol prior to January 1, 2010 with a concealed pistol license may continue to do so.
HB 4221 (Ebli) House Bill 4221 amends the Concealed Weapons Act to make technical changes to various references. Tie-barred to HB 4222.
HB 4222 (Ebli) House Bill 4222 (H-3) amends the Revised Judicature Act to allow victims of sexual assault to petition the court for a personal protection order (PPO) without having to have two contacts with the respondent (the perpetrator of the assault). Tie-barred to HB 4221.
