YOU can help secure $138.9 million
for unemployed workers TODAY!
Michigan workers are struggling and we need to do everything we can to help them. Weeks ago the Michigan House of Representatives approved a plan to modernize our unemployment system and secure $138.9 million in federal funds for unemployed workers as a result. The changes would allow workers who are being retrained and those who can only find part-time work to receive benefits. Unfortunately, the Republican-controlled State Senate has yet to take action on the legislation, leaving thousands of Michigan families facing an uncertain future.

Sign The Petition Below

We, the undersigned, are calling on the Michigan State Senate to swiftly approve a plan that will provide $138.9 million to help unemployed workers. If the Senate fails to act, we risk sending our tax dollars back to Washington when we could be helping Michigan families.

As Michigan's economy goes through an historic transformation and unemployment continues to devastate our communities, it is critical that we take advantage of every resource at our disposal to make the transition less painful.

Passing this legislation right away will provide a lifeline to our workers, allow them to pursue training for new jobs, and make sure those who are only able to find part-time work are not punished. Please approve this unemployment modernization plan now to help Michigan workers.

Demand Senate Action

Michigan State Senate Democrats are ready to approve the plan that will help make sure our tax dollars are used to help our struggling workers, but they need Senate Republicans to allow a vote on the legislation.

Contact the Republican Senators below and tell them you want them to schedule a vote and support modernizing our unemployment system. Let them know that Michigan sends enough tax dollars to Washington and that when there’s a chance to use those funds to help our families, we should not pass it up.
