“I opposed the Cobo plan considered in the Senate today because it did not give the people I represent in Wayne County an equal chance to be a part of saving the auto show for Michigan.

If the majority was serious about providing a real solution to keeping the auto show in Michigan, they would not have crafted a plan that shut out Wayne and Macomb counties and could result in a exclusive deal for a private developer in Oakland County who would receive massive amounts of tax dollars.

Hopefully, they will take the opportunity to sit down for real negotiations with other local leaders and state lawmakers to come up with a better plan to keep the auto show in Michigan where it belongs."
