Anderson Introduces Bills to Protect Students’ Civil Rights

LANSING- State Senator Glenn S. Anderson has introduced a package of bills that would prohibit any person employed or contracted by a public school from conducting a strip search or cavity search of a student. It would also prohibit the removing or arranging any of a student’s clothing in order to conduct a visual inspection of the student.

Anderson Joins State Employees and Gives Back Six Days of Pay

Anderson today announced that he is giving back six days of pay to match the six unpaid furlough days that state employees are being required to take between now and September 30, 2009.
